Our Mission

Connecting People to Jesus & Each Other

At our church, our mission is Connecting People to Jesus and Each Other. This mission flows directly from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) and serves as our ministry compass and North Star. Everything we do— every service, event, group, and ministry—is designed to help people meet Jesus and grow in relationship with Him and one another. We believe we are called to reach and teach our community, pointing people toward Jesus.

Our History

In 1872 BBBC started with a small group of people meeting in a house. Shortly thereafter, a tract of land was donated for the church l a school. The grateful people considered the ground as hallowed ground, fitting to be called Burning Bush.

1872- Moved from log house to a one bedroom building on Lee and Gordon Mill Road in Chickamauga.

Our Doctrinal Beliefs

At Burning Bush Baptist Church, our beliefs are rooted in Scripture. We are a Southern Baptist church that holds to the Baptist Faith & Message.

The Bible is inspired by God and is the final authority.

One God in three persons — Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Fully God, fully man, lived sinlessly, died for sin, rose again, returning.

Indwells believers, empowering and guiding them.

Made in God’s image yet separated by sin.

By grace through faith in Jesus Christ

The body of Christ expressed in local congregations.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Jesus returns, believers resurrected to eternal life
